Our capoeira Program has just complete 4 years. From a small group of maybe 10 students, we can see the growth of it and we had a special class to celebrate the anniversary this past January. Thank you all for being part of this.

Fernando Yamasaki – Featured Black Belt of January Women’s Seminar

Fifth degree Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt and head instructor of Yamasaki Academy, Fernando Yamasaki, will christen the 2012 Black Belt Seminar Series for Women on Saturday, January 21st. Fernando, coach of five female world champion medalists, will break down the subtleties of the mount for women as smaller, more technique-oriented players. The fun will not end when participants leave the Academy, but will continue at Yuraku Sushi (*please note change from Taipei Tokyo listed on flyer) for post-seminar sushi and team building.

Join Fernando Saturday, January 21st from 1-3 PM at Yamasaki Headquarters in Rockville, MD. Registration is only $15 and open to the first fifteen participants to ensure intensive and individualized instruction. Register before Friday, January 20th at noon to reserve your place on the mat. Yamasaki Academy Launches Black Belt Seminar Series for Women

Yamasaki Academy is pleased to announce the start of its newest program, the 2012 Black Belt Seminar Series for Women. Each month showcases a different Yamasaki black belt teaching techniques geared towards the game of women’s Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Seminar topics range from butterfly and half guard sweeps to standing guard passes and a special armbar sequence. Featured black belts include: Fernando Yamasaki, Joe Cunningham, Ahmed El Ghandour, Bennett Fisher, David Jacobs, Mark Jones, Francisco Neto, Luis Pantoja, Morgann Paraskevas, Klint Radwani and Salvatore Sanguinetti. Full schedule and details to be released shortly.

As the goal is to promote and raise the level of women’s Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, participants pay only $15 per seminar – discounted seminar packages available.

Fernando Yamasaki awarded by Brazil

Fernando Yamasaki received two awards from the Brazilian Wrestling Federation.

One award for his dedication as a competitor for representing Brazil on the National Team and another for being a coach for Brazil. Congratulations!
