The Yamasaki family has been teaching martial arts for 2 generations in Brazil. In 1994, Mario Yamasaki founded the Yamasaki Academy in the United States and its success has made it one of the premier Martial Arts training centers in the United States. Now, the Yamasaki Academy has locations in 4 continents with representatives in Brazil, Holland, Germany, Sweden, Australia and the US.  Our locations in the Mid Atlantic Region serve students from Washington D.C. Montgomery County, Fairfax County, Loudon County, Rockville, Silver Spring, North Potomac, Germantown, Reston, Herndon, Chantilly, Centreville, Fairfax, Arlington, Alexandria, Winchester, and Richmond.

The Academy offers training for adults and children in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), Submission Grappling, Self-defense, Thai Boxing, Capoeira, and Vale Tudo. We are serving students from Reston, Herndon, Chantilly, Centreville, Fairfax, Arlington, and Alexandria in Virginia.

The YAMASAKI HEADQUARTER located in Rockville, Maryland (near Twinbrook metro station) has 7000 square feet of mat space equipped with top-of-the-line mats and three training rooms. We have locker rooms for men and women completely furnished with bathrooms, showers, lockers, and washer and dryer. Visit our Martial Arts school in Rockville to try our Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Submission Grappling, Thai-Boxing / Muay-Thai, Self-Defense and Capoeira classes, and Yoga.

The Springfield, Virginia, school is conveniently located within the Springfield Mall in Kim's Karate. This massive facility (one of the largest martial arts schools in the United States) has 4 rooms and over 17.000 square feet of mat space. It is equipped with locker rooms, showers, bathrooms and free parking.

The Fairfax/Centreville/Chantilly, Virginia , school is located in the Gold's Gym. The school has a spacious mat area, locker rooms, showers, bathrooms and free parking.

The Washington D.C. school is located in Wisconsin Ave. inside Tenley Sport & Health Club.

In our Richmond, Virginia location the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Thaiboxing classes are conducted by Mike Crawford and Klint Radwani.

Because of the demand we keep adding new locations.  Yamasaki Academy Black Belt, Paul Bush is teaching in Leesburg, Virginia.  Mark Jones a 2006 Pan Am Champion and Derrick Nguyen are teaching in Frederick, Maryland.
